We’ve been on the road again for the last 2 days – heading along the north coast & then down west.
We spent last night in Somerset. The kids have been requesting more beach walks, which I’ve been more than happy to accommodate. I’m finding that being by the water is having a wonderfully calming influence on me. Maybe it’s because we live so far from the ocean back home in Walcha.
After a stop at the Makers Workshop in Burnie this morning – a massive building that houses various handmade artisans and artists of many mediums where I had to resist whipping out the credit card and buying lots and lots of beautiful things – we passed from the calm of Bass Strait, through rain-forests, to dams nestled between mountains of stone, to sand-dunes and finishing at the wild West Coast and spending the night in Strahan.
The changes in scenery have been stunning, and stunning to the mind as we’ve passed by them all in the space of a day. I’ve taken so many photos, that I can’t possibly post them all, so instead I leave you with a macro I took at Hellyer Gorge at lunch time… enjoy.
