pile of books to read

“Don’t settle. Don’t finish crappy books. If you don’t like the menu, leave the restaurant. If you’re not on the right path, get off it..”

~ Chris Brogan

I used to be one of those people who finished a book, regardless of how crappy it was, because I had started it and that’s what you did… you finished the book.

Now, I say fuck it and throw that thing in a box to be given away at the next Book Fair.

for the first time in a long time,

I’m feeling like I’m on the right path

Walking with my head held high and to the beat of my own drum.  Clichés I know, but it’s the truth.

So buckle for taking stock #22!

And if you’re curious about how my mind works on a good day, here’s the archive for the other 21!!

Making: time for myself
Cooking: on the firebox – slow-cooked soups and stews in winter are the best
Drinking: still on my ginger-infused water
Reading: daily… I have several books on the go at once, something I never used to be able to do, but am finding I’m getting through my rather large pile of ‘books to read’ this way
Wanting: the insanity to end
Looking: forward to catching up with family soon
Playing: with paint still… I’m enjoying it a lot!!
Deciding: on what to wear to a semi-formal/formal wedding… nothing in my wardrobe cuts it
Wishing: …one of the sayings I learned from my mother-in-law was “If wishes were fishes, we’d all cast nets.”… been thinking about her and that saying a bit lately
Enjoying: playing in my vegetable gardens
Waiting: for the snow peas to start maturing… they never make it into the house!
Liking: my morning routine… easy and relaxed, just the way life should be
Wondering: what to cook for dinner… does that question ever get answered
Loving: time spent in my Studio… it is still my place of peace and sanity
Pondering: working on a series of still lifes based on the works of Ignace Henri Jean Fantin-Latour… more to come!
Considering: eggs for lunch
Watching‘Peaky Blinders’  from the start of season 1.  It’s been such a long time since I watched it, that I felt I needed to start again
Hoping: that insulating the walls will actually make the house warmer
Marveling: at Nature… She truly is a wonder
Needing: to curb my sugar cravings… it rears its ugly head every now and again
Smelling: my second cup of coffee
Wearing: socks… all the time… because the floor is cold
Following: lots of what is happening around the world
Noticing: the details
Knowing: I am a strong, independent, free-willed woman who will survive
Thinking: about what I need to buy down the street
Feeling: hopeful
Admiring: the determination of those who speak the truth in getting the stories out there
Sorting: through the piles of clutter that seem to creep onto surfaces in my house… just how do they get there!?
Buying: bacon… bacon, good
Getting: caught up on emails
Bookmarking: alternatives to the dominant operating systems… getting out of those worlds soon
Disliking: lies… and there’s been more than enough of them spread lately
Opening: a packet of snap pea seeds to get started
Giggling: a the way my Husband’s brain works… or doesn’t
Snacking: on sour worms… part of that sugar craving
Coveting: nothing in particular… I really do have everything I could possibly want or need
Wishing: for the truth to come out
Hearing: the sound of a crow cawing

with peace, love and light,

Tasha xo
