tubes of paint and tools for painting

Can you believe I started the taking stock post series back in June 2014?

And here I am at post number 21!?

I feel like I should be throwing it a coming-of-age party!

Way back in 2014, I said that I liked the idea of taking stock.

It was time “to stop and think about what is important in your world right now. What you’re going to give your energy to. What is bringing you joy.”

And with the world we live in at present, it’s even more important than it was 6-and-a-half years ago when I began.

I followed my own links back to the source of this inspiration.  My web guru Libby has changed tack, but Pip from Meet Me At Mike’s is still doing her Taking Stock posts!  So, if you see this Pip – thank you for the inspiration!

So, here goes… #21.

Making: basil + olive oil cubes to freeze for winter dishes… I have an excess of basil in the garden, and that’s not a bad thing
Cooking: not much, to be honest… Husband got a Weber barbecue for his birthday, so I’m letting him play
Drinking: my ginger water still… it’s become a go-to
Reading: The Biology of Belief from Bruce H. Lipton Ph.D. and Soil by Matthew Evans
Wanting: for the insanity to stop and all mandates everywhere, in every state and business to be lifted
Looking: forward to my Friday Artist Date… why?
Playing: with paint… it’s part of my Friday Artist Date!
Deciding: what vegetable seedlings to get started next
Wishing: for the insanity to stop
Enjoying: not working outside of the house for the first time in a long time
Waiting: for the retaining wall to be rebuilt… it collapsed in a storm in mid-December and it’s a mess
Liking: my new morning routine… let’s just say it’s very relaxed
Wondering: why it’s so windy today… we’ve been having unseasonal blustery winds in February
Loving: how relaxed my new morning routine is!
Pondering: the future… what will it hold?
Considering: eggs for lunch
Watching: All of Us Are Dead, a Korean zombie series because you know how much I love the zombie genre
Hoping: to have my online print shop up and running by the end of March
Marveling: at how the wheel of nature continues to turn, regardless of what is happening in the world
Needing: peace
Smelling: the Boy cooking eggs
Wearing: socks… because in addition to the windy weather, it’s also been unseasonably cold
Following: what is happening the world over as people start to wake up and say “No more!”
Noticing: how my back begins to ache if I don’t stop and stretch… am I getting old?
Knowing: that I will always speak my truth… honestly, openly, unapologetically, and without reserve
Thinking: that people I thought I knew were better, nicer people than they’ve turned out to be…
Feeling: hopeful some days, and a little dejected on others
Admiring: the scientists, doctors, nurses, teachers, and professionals who are speaking up and speaking out about the c*vid v*ccines
Sorting: the blank cards I have had printed using my flower photos
Buying: ribbon to finish making photo gift tags
Getting: to bed at 9 p.m. each night… having a consistent bedtime has really helped my sleep
Bookmarking: nothing.  I’m slowly unsubscribing and removing myself more and more from being online
Disliking: censorship, in a BIG way
Opening: my delivery of gluten-free oats that have just arrived
Giggling: there hasn’t been too much giggling happening of late
Snacking: is not something I really do
Coveting: peace… for myself and all of humanity
Wishing: for the fucking insanity to stop
Hearing: the sound of a window ornament banging against the frame… so I shut the window!

As the world continues to change and evolve, I wish you all peace, love and light, wherever you may be.

We need to stick together if things are going to improve.

with love and light,

Tasha xo
