A Creative Odyssey is a blog hop spanning 4 weeks in December 2010 – where over 40 bloggers will share the next steps in their creative journeys with you.
Be sure and stop by my blog hop partner for today – Sweet Rustic – to see Katie’s Creative Dreams and Goals for 2011.
And tomorrow, visit with Alanna of Bobishi and Tracey of Quiet Paws, to see what they have planned for 2011.
I am a Creative Soul.
My creativity is what helps to keep me sane.
I hadn’t really given my Creativity for 2011 much thought, but then Jess came along with an invite to participate in her blog hop, and it got me to thinking.
What do I want to achieve creatively next year?
1. I am going to master my new camera.
A present to self, I’ve invested in a Canon EOS 550D – with a macro lens.
I love the world in detail. It reminds me to go slow. To stop and take notice. That Mother Nature is a truly amazing woman. And it is something that I want to be able to share with the world.
Being behind the lens is a Craft that I have wanted to pursue for many years now. And now feels like the right time.
2. As a result of No.1, I have decided to scale back on my jewellery designing.
Having said I will scale back though, I am considering a 365 Project with earrings (inspired by my 365 Project with photos). Whether or not it happens is another question, but perhaps the most important part of my scaling-back decision is that I am no longer going to beat myself up emotionally and mentally for not being able to devote myself 24/7 to the responsibilities and challenges that face a micro-business owner.
I am still passionate about my jewellery and designing pieces for the woman who really knows her own sense of style. I always want to be able to enable women to express their individuality. It’s what makes us the more interesting half of the species!
It is just that 2010 saw me take on another role as in-class aide to a young man with Aspergers. One I will continue with in 2011 – and although very challenging at times, it is another thing I am passionate about. Giving all kids the opportunity to learn and realise their full potential.
My goals for 2011.
Not many. Not lofty.
But completely achievable.
Thanks for stopping by & commenting on my creative odyssey.
I love ur macro photos, it’s absolutely right what u said about stopping to see the details in life & ur pics certainly capture that. Good luck in your 2011 goals.

p.s.- I think what your doing as a teachers aid is fantastic & very important, you must be a very special lady.
Thanks Katie.
I really do hope that your dream of a B&M shop come true – I really will come and visit, and have a cup of tea with you.
Best of luck with your 2011 goals.
Cheers,
Tasha
Good luck for the new year Tasha! Have fun with your new camera. I can’t wait to see your photographic work, your stuff so far is already amazing 🙂
Thank you so much Dannielle.

Have a super 2011 Love.

Achievable and wonderful, Tasha 🙂 I love that you’re jumping into your new craft with gusto – it’s always such an exciting time, mastering a new skill!
I’m looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful photographs 🙂
Thank you Jess 🙂
And thank you too for all your help in getting my blog up and functional this year.
Look forward to another year of knowing you in 2011.
Cheers,
Tasha
“Not many. Not lofty. But completely achievable.” I like that and now I have camera envy! Good luck with the 365 Project, using numbers helps keep you on track. Clouds 365 is into year 2 if you want to check it out. Nice meeting you through this Blog Hop. :)Suzi (Vignettes de la vie)
The numbers are definitely helping Suzi! That’s one of the reasons why I’m steering towards a 365 with earrings as well.
I love the Clouds 365 Project – clouds fascinate me… they take on a different persona each day.
Cheers,
Tasha
I’m really loving your photography. Good luck mastering your camera in 2011. What a great goal and gift you have!
I taught for 6 years and worked with a wonderful boy with Aspergers for 2 years –it was both rewarding and difficult, just like you mentioned. I admire you for opening your heart and abilities to that opportunity.
I wish you the best of luck in 2011!
Hi there! I think this is really smart – totally achievable and not too daunting as a result 🙂 Good luck!
Sarah
Thanks Sarah 🙂
I really believe that keeping your goals achievable helps to keep you sane !!

HERE! HERE! I love the goals about not beating yourself up “emotionally and mentally for not being able to devote myself 24/7 to the responsibilities and challenges that face a micro-business owner.” That’s a perfect goal and one I will join you in! Congrats on the photography passion! i too have had a love for detail and looking a things close up, nature and people are what I love creating with behind the lens. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your creations in the new year. Have a safe and inspiring holiday!
Thanks Stephey. The ‘not beating myself up’ goal is one that will bring me a lot of peace, I think. And with that peace I intend to explore my creativity more – minus the pressure. I’ll check in with you through 2011 to see how you are getting on with it too. Best of luck to us both !!
Cheers,
Tasha
I love the fact you are going to master your camera, and not let it master you, and make it part of your creative life. This is such an exciting thing! Good luck and I hope you achieve all your dreams and go way beyond being an amateur photographer!
Thank you Marjorie !! Check in with me at the end of 2011 and see how I’ve gone?
Cheers,
Tasha
Great post – good luck and have tons of fun with your new camera.
Thanks Laura – I am very much enjoying my new ‘toy’!!
Cheers,
Tasha
Totally achievable! I think it’s great that you plan to follow your instincts. I also love how you are going to slow down and photograph what you see – beautiful! I’d love to master my own camera as well.
Thanks Brandi 🙂
Slowing down definitely has its benefits – and the best of luck mastering your own camera as well !!
Cheers,
Tasha
