times will come
times will pass
and time will come again
~ Rhiannon D. Elton
Another year is almost done…
In previous years, I finished my year with intention.
It didn’t seem quite right this year, and as I was writing in my daily gratitude journal one night, I realised that I needed to start my year with intention but finish my year with gratitude.
because with endings come new beginnings
1. What changes did I experience this year?
I popped back into paid employment this year and discovered that what I want in life is to be an artist.
Photography energises me and is my favourite way to express my creativity.
It is also a way I can create an income for myself, and that’s what I have focussed on doing!
Next year will see me continuing to grow my business, in a way that works and resonates for me.
Baby steps and self-care will feature in my plan because I never want to lose my love of photography.
2. What are my top 10 favorite photos from this past year?
It’s always an interesting exercise to look back at the previous years’ images!
3. What new opportunities became available this year?
You have to love a chance encounter and conversation!
Such a one happened with Jess, owner of the Newcastle Food and Flower Market.
And they now stock my fine art greeting cards and gift tags!!
I’m proud of myself for, as my Daughter said in a somewhat shocked voice, “sliding right on in there, Mum”!
You’ll find my cards and gift tags at the Sandgate hub and in Charlestown Square.
4. Who made a difference in my life this year?
Tara Saxon – life coach and an amazing soul.
Tara reached out to me, to ask if I would help her with a final assessment for her life coaching certification.
I immediately said ‘yes’, to help out a friend.
Now, I’ve always thought of myself as a person who has their shit rather together. As such, I didn’t believe that life coaching would be of benefit to me.
But, oh my…. I was very wrong about life coaching!
With Tara’s gentle approach, she opened my eyes to how powerful your thoughts and beliefs can be. And how life coaching can be beneficial.
Needless to say, I’ll be booking another session with her in 2024, to touch base and realign.
5. How did I express my creativity this year?
A long time ago, I used to have Friday afternoon Artist Dates with myself.
This year, I reinstated them.
Picked up my watercolour brushes and paints again, and it was glorious.
I find painting very calming and look forward to spending some time creating, simply for the sake of it…
Will these works ever see the light of day?
Probably not.
It’s more about the process than the finished product… and time spent in peace.
Do you have a gratitude practice?
And is there something you were truly grateful for in 2023?
with peace, love and light,
Tasha xo
