If you’re like me,
you love having candles around the house.
But those clear glass votive holders can get a little boring after a while.
So here’s a simple and quick diy to make your own pretty painted votive candle holders in time for use tonight!
What you need:
clear glass votive candle holders
acrylic paint in the colour of your choice
paint brush
plastic cup to mix paint in
water
What to do:
Make a wash of paint and water (I would recommend a decent squirt of paint and about half as much water).
Paint the inside of your glass candle holder. Don’t worry about streaks or being neat as you’re going to be texturing the paint finish anyway.
Give the paint a couple of minutes to dry off just a little (not too much though or you won’t be able to add your finish).
Add brush marks to your a-little-bit-dry paint. You might have to wipe off any excess on to a piece of scrap paper here.
Let them dry for an hour or two before use.
