the calla lily – such an unusual flower
Each and every one is a sculpture all of its own… Mother Nature has a way of creating beautiful and unique things.
Did you know though, that the calla lily is not a true lily?
It belongs to the genus Zantedeschia and is a member of the Araceae family, along with the caladium and philodendron.
Sometimes called the pig lily, it’s also known as a trumpet lily or arum lily.
Due to the white and waxy blooms poking out of the dark foliage, this flower has earned a connection to innocence and purity, with each colour representing specific characteristics also.
all I know is that the calla lily is one of my favourite flowers
If you love these flowers photos as much as I do, please share them with a friend.
with light, love and peace
