And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul.

~ John Muir

The weather was lovely, so the annual pine cone fire-starter hunt happened over the weekend.

It is starting to cool in my part of the world, and before we know it, the fire will be going 24/7.

We discovered, when we moved here all those years ago, that pine cones make pretty good fire-starters.

Back then, the kids used to help us collect.  It was a morning out… collect our buckets of pine cones, then wander the forest exploring, followed by a picnic lunch.

Now, it is just Husband and I who do the collecting, and more often Husband does the majority of it, as I take my camera and get distracted…

and what a wonderful way to get distracted it is…

Chances are I won’t visit the forest until it is time for next year’s pine cone hunt… but who knows…

with love and light,
