1. Have the courage to be imperfect
We are bombarded daily with images and expectations of perfection.
The perfect body.
The perfect mother.
The perfect marriage.
The perfect wife.
The perfect business.
But, do you have the courage to be ‘imperfect’?
Are you happy with the way your body is? Have you embraced your age?
Do you acknowledge that your kids can be monsters sometimes?
And that every now and again, an massive argument with your partner is what is needed?
I know I have reached a point in my life where I am happy with the way I look. I know that my kids can be awful sometimes, and that communication is the key to reducing the number of marital disgreements…
But when it comes to my business… I struggle.
I have been striving for the perfect business for so long now.
The perfect balance between family and business. Listing daily. Tweeting and Facebooking regularly. Getting my brand out there, and getting known.
I’m my own worst critic, and berate myself if I don’t get the ‘to-do’ list. Think that if I’m not online daily, that I’m doing myself a disservice, and my business will suffer…
How do you let yourself be ‘imperfect’ in business…? Do you accept that you are only one person, and that there are only 24 hours in your day?
How do you be ‘imperfect’ in your life…? Acknowledge that disagreements are healthy and that children will be heard and seen?
Do you have the courage… the courage to be imperfect…
This series will run over the next 10 days.
